Theology 2: The Artist, our Savior
The Artist, our Savior
Psalm 19:1, βThe heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the word of his hands.β
That God exists is without question. How can one watch the sunrise, the colors dancing in the clouds, and deny the artist? Is it possible to feel the winds of the rising storm, to stand in the fury, and not be awed by such power? Can we study the workings of this intricate universe and not marvel at the wisdom of its creator? A deep sense of right and wrong that spans cultures, time, and continents is engrained in our hearts. Our conscience bears witness to God, condemning us, at times even defending us. That God exists is without question.
God is the artist who paints every flower, who delights in the smallest of insects to the majesty of the cosmos. God commands the elements, directs nature, and holds all things in his power, as a general orders his army. God programs every single one of our billions of DNA and designs this world in beauty, order, and truth. Nature reveals a powerful God.
The same God who put the planets in motion, who every day wills all things to happen, who delights in every daisy, knows you. He loves you. He delights in you. God demonstrates this love by sending his Son Jesus to shed his blood for our sins, to die in our place, to rise and give us eternal paradise.
