Let God Speak #36: A Dance With The Triune God

John 14:19-20, “Because I live, you also will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.

A Dance With The Triune God

Car brakes are simple. I press the pedal. The car stops. Easy! Until they need replacing. Pads, rotors, discs, calipers, tubes, fluids, and bears, oh my. I’m not a mechanic, so I’m just glad mine ‘usually’ work.

In a much more incomprehensible way, that describes how God works. Our finite, limited human minds can never comprehend God, the creator of all things. If we could, he wouldn’t be God. Scripture reveals that God is a “Triune” God. 1 God. 3 Persons. “Uh, what?”

But Jesus reveals a startling truth in John 14. We participate in God, in a totally incomprehensible way. The Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, dance together in eternal love. Then the Holy Spirit comes, creates faith in our hearts, and draws us into that dance. We can’t understand God. That’s okay. God works! We dance with the Triune God every day of our life. We participate, in a sense, with this dance.

Do you know what that means? God also takes us into the story of Jesus. He rose from the grave and lives forever. Thus, we too will rise and live forever. Where Jesus stands, there we stand as well. Forgiven. Saved. Holy. What a gift, to dance with the Triune God!
