Let God Speak #2: All Things Made New

Revelation 21:1, “Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.”

Have you ever thought the world is off balance? That all is not quite right? Sure, there is plenty to love: the beauty of a sunrise, the peace of a river valley, the joy of family. Yet a deep sense of “wrongness” lies over the land. People oppress and discriminate others. Justice and integrity hide their faces. Natural disasters destroy all in their path.

Something is wrong with this world. We know how it should look: A world filled with compassion, unblemished in full radiance and beauty. But that’s a dream we can’t reach. Any history book will show you the story of humanity: bloody, cruel, and selfish. The “wrongness” of this world outweighs whatever beauty we might find.

That’s what we see… for the moment. But God made an extraordinary promise, a promise each one of us longs for: to make all things new, to restore this word as it should be, to bring back Eden. What we long for, what our hearts yearn for, what seems like just a dream right now… that’s God’s promise: to make all things new. A world with no tears or death, a beauty that cannot be marred, a light that won’t diminish. Justice and peace spread across the land. All things made new.
